Riding Dirty

(J. Crew blazer, H&M sweater, BDG jeans, Steve Madden riding boots, Ray Ban wayfarers)

Today, I woke up and knew it was already going to be a busy, busy day, so I wore what was most comfortable and appropriate for my internship. Since I rarely wear blazers, I decided to invest in a nice one. I know, I know, J. Crew sounds super expensive. Wrong! Thank goodness for J. Crew outlets, which have more affordable yet still fashionable items! And for those who already know I'm not a huge fan of suits, I wore it with my favorite black jeans. I've had the riding boots for more than three years now, and I love them as much as the first day I bought them. Riding boots are timeless shoes that can be worn any time of year and with practically any outfit. I was super functional today!

And since I was in a hurry, I threw my hair up into this easy Carrie Bradshaw-esque bun! Like it? The tutorial can be found here! (Check out this girl's blog. She's extra cute.)

Denim Lovin'

(Merona Denim Utility Shirt, ZARA tapered trousers, ZARA belt, Merona suede wedges)

Finally! The Internet has returned! I never knew how much I depended on the Internet until we lost power for two days. I've been itching to blog for days! Luckily, it's up and running now, so I can post my latest internship outfit.

I scored the shirt and shoes from Target last night. You will soon learn that Target is one of the places I frequent the most because of its cheap, chic clothing and shoe selection. Right now, I'm in love with denim shirts. So far I have three. I love this shirt because I can dress it up or down. And the shoes are so comfy! They give me just the right amount of height without snapping my ankles.

Happy Friday everyone!

Dressed for success... in the snow

(ZARA sheer polka dot blouse, ZARA tapered trousers, Merona patent loafers)

Today turned out to be a very interesting day. It was the first day of my internship at USA TODAY and the first big snowstorm in Maryland (which sent me home early, boo.), so it was a very interesting morning trying to pick out what to wear for my first day. Nevertheless, I settled on my favorite trousers. I love ZARA's "business" clothing because it's stylish yet suitable for the work environment. Plus, they've got more styles than the usual flare pants (which I'm not that big of a fan of).

Note to self: Buy booties for winter and office wear. Hunter boots will not suffice in the office.

First day of school

(Sugarfly jacket, H&M shirt, BDG jeans, Steve Madden boots, Banana Republic scarf)

As I'm writing this, I'm waiting for my first class of the day! I can't believe I've been in school for four years already. Graduation cannot come soon enough.

Anyway, the giggly photos are a combination of my first attempt at shooting myself with my camera's self-timer and how cold it was outside this morning. Boyfriend isn't always around to take photos of me, so I decided I better learn fast. And finally, there's sunlight!

I'm getting my fill of casual attire now because Wednesday I start my internship, so I've got to dress a lot snazzier. Bring on the workwear!

Everything Knit

(Forever 21 knit hat, Forever 21 knit sweater, BDG jeans, Dr. Martens boots)

So winter class is done, but winter weather is not. Last night, I decided to pile on every knit piece of clothing I owned for movie night. My favorite piece is the scarf because it was handmade by my mama! And I have had those Dr. Martens boots since I was 15! So durable and perfect for trudging around in the slush.

After a rough week of classes, I noticed something different on a website I often visit... I am currently the featured member of StyledOn! This website is great for any fashion enthusiast, who wants to keep all of their inspirations stored in virtual scrapbook. They were also sweet enough to include me in an article of featured members of the week, which can be seen here.

So to celebrate, I decided to rock some red lips. Why not.

Also, I will try harder not to be a creature of the night and take more pictures during the day.

Galang a lang a lang lang

Right now, I am in love with Missoni's spring 2011 collection mostly because I tired of this grey winter. I have always loved their bold zigzag patterns, but this collection takes it to the next level with bold punches of bright, fluorescent colors. The outfits are pretty similar to M.I.A.'s album artwork and eclectic style, no? I think the use of loud colors portrays a sense of rebellion while still being feminine just like Ms. Maya, who I had the pleasure of seeing at Virgin Fest for the first time this year. Definitely a unique, strong and memorable experience.

Windy Weather

(Forever 21 purl knit striped sweater, Forever 21 layered chain necklace)

I wore this outfit last night to see the much anticipated movie, Blue Valentine, which was I loved for the way it was artistically directed and shot. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams were the perfect fit for the characters. I highly recommend everyone to see this movie.

I have been living in oversized sweaters all winter, and I love the subtle knit striping details of this sweater.

I still have not gotten used to taking pictures of myself for blogging. I love taking pictures, but I am still a little camera shy.

New year. New life. New blog.

(Forever 21 shirt, BDG jeans, ZARA stretchy metal scale belt)

So I finally decided to start a blog about all the things I love. Get ready to be bombarded with fashion, music, and of course, food.
